The internet connection dropped this afternoon. Then I tried to reboot it. Keep getting messages that it cannot auto repair. Now I cannot do anything but shut it down. Please help!

I am guessing that something got corrupted.
Please run HP diagnostics to verify the disk drive is OK.
Press ESC after powering on then select diagnostics to include the drive test.
Only one pass is needed.
If there are no errors then try the advanced opions
