Windows can't open/find my pictures.

Slimline desktop, product number 3LA89AA#ABAWindows can't open any of my pictures on the computer or external hard drive. It shows thumbnails for all picture folders but when you click to open a picture you get a box saying "Windows cannot find Drive:\Folder\Date\Subfolder\Picture Name.JPG. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." I'm not typing a name. Only clicking on a thumbnail to open it. It does this on all pictures on computer drive and external hard drive. It's as if all pictures have disappeared from their root location, it that makes sense. There have been no software or driver changes. My internet connection is normal internet modem from cable company. HELP!

Have you noticed this, whereas until then it worked, or never worked?
Your images, from the computer, not the external disk for the moment, it is well in the default folder of windows, or elsewhere, you moved them at a time, or any manipulation made?
In your images folder, you have a thumbnail, if you place the mouse over it, without moving, you must have information
