HP 8200 SFF and USPC BIOS

Hi Community,

I'm not able to find the BIOS files in order to upgrade the bios from BIOS J01 v02.15.

I wanted also to have the release notes for the BIOS in order to check support for PC-12800 support for newer BIOS.

If someone could lead me to the correct page / link for the 8200 USPC and SFF, this would be very nice.

Hi:

You should be able to install PC3-12800 memory but it is only going to run at 1333 MHz, which is the fastest speed the Q67 chipset can support.

You can find the BIOS updates under the W7 driver section of the support page, and I recommend you use the F10 BIOS flash method if you are not running W7.

You can find all of the release notes under the previous version section of the BIOS file download page.

Also, this is very important...If you are running W10 and you did not install W10 in EFI mode, then if you update the BIOS to v2.33, it will take well over two minutes for the PC to restart from a warm boot.

If you installed W10 in legacy mode, the last BIOS version you can update to and not have that happen, would be v2.28.

Hi Paul,

Thank you for the answer. I double checked my memory and it was registered memory so it was beeping 5 times and not booting. That was the reason.

I run Linux, I hope I will be able to use the BIOS updater in the BIOS itself to upgrade.

Is there a kind of consolidated Release notes since my older BIOS version ?

You're very welcome.

ECC, registered memory will not work under any circumstances in the 8200 Elite model series.

You have to use non-ECC, unbuffered memory.

Here is a copy and paste of all the release notes from the BIOS revisions...None of them add support for newer processors or allow for faster memory, or ECC memory.
