My HID-compliant touch screen on my laptop keeps not working. It's being caused by updates, but there are updates I need. In Device Manager, I have to 'Show hidden devices' to see the HID-compliant touch screen, no option to unhide. Viewing properties, it reads "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45) To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer." But it's not possible that it's physically disconnected because the touch screen works just fine in BIOS and in the HP UEFI Diagnostics. It also was working just fine before the update. The drivers are up to date using 'Search automatically for updated driver software'. Twice now I have used a restore point to go back and try to figure this out, but with my necessary updates (Windows 10 and other programs), it keeps failing to work. I have also run the 'Hardware and devices troubleshooter' and it finds no issues. Is there anything I can do to get this functionality back?
