I have hp compaq dc7600 mini convertible desktop pc in my office. this morning I decided to install additional ddr2 512MB memory stick. after installing the memory stick i get some beeps and latter the information that "THE SYSTEM BIOS IMAGE IS CORRUPTED" and that i should insert removable media contianing the system bios image file and cycle the power on the system. A system bios may be obtain from www.hp.com. I went to the site and download the bios software and burnt the image on a CD and inserted it. everything showed successful but after rebooting it went to the same error again.

When you created the CD did you check it afterwards to see if a file named 7D1_0204.bin was on the CD?

I used a free utility called IMGBurn to create the CD disk with the bin file.  The following image is what you should see inside the CD after successful creation.

The most obvious would be that the extra memory is not being recognized properly.  Remove the new chip and try again.  If the BIOS really is corrupted it may be problematic.
