Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

AM I CONFUSED...I installed a Samsung 850 Pro SSD along with thier monitor / configuration software, Magician.

Magician popped up with a compatability notice directing me to Intel's download center to update the "Intel(R) 8 Series/C220 Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller".

Intel states the latest version is 14.5.0.1081

I am presently at 14.5.0.1080

Intels driver update too says no update is necessary.

HP's site says the current version is 14.5.0.1081

But if I go to device manager and goto the adapter and hit "update driver" it installs version 14.5.1.1087.

Updating to 14.5.0.1081 or 14.5.1.1087 satisfys Samsung magicians compatability.

Which one do I install?

Fustrated....

Hello

Go with the most current driver version as long as it corrects compatibility problem in Samsung Magician.

Thanks. Thats what I did which satisfied Magician. It concerned me as it was a newer version than indicated by the manufacturer (HP). But all seem ok.

Hello

You are welcome

The Intel chipset driver update from Intel would have most current version.

HP has not updated the drivers for your PC yet.
