could anyone tell me if a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817148040 would be compatable with an HP Pavillion P6803W?

Hi I just bought a pavilion p7-1003w and need to upgrade the video card. In order to do so I need a 400w power supply or better. Can someone please recommend one for me that will fit in my case and have the proper pins and what not. I'm looking to buy a radeon hd 6000 series thanks in advance

Ok, I've got a p6350z with the factory graphics card (ATI Radeon HD 4200) and am looking to upgrade but I'm seeing that they recommend a 400w or higher power supply to support the new card. Can someone suggest a good power supply that's compatible with my desktop? Thanks much.

Hi Ltahab,
The size of the power supply needs to be matched to the video card. You probably can't go wrong by using the Corsair CX600.
These HP 'how-to" articles should be helpful.

Hi All
I read this forummonths ago and even started a couple of thrreads about upgarding my
i7 / intel
hp / 8100 elite convertable minitower
I Loved the Pc But It would not run my Maxtor triple head on all 6 monitors with the standard graphics so need to put in my GTX 280 graphics maybe evern both if i can get a big enought power supply to run them sli
But I gave up looking about as it seems no PSu support the silly no ATX board with the 4pin floppy style connector.
How ever can any one confrim that there is now one avaible? Like this one?
CORSAIR Builder Series CX600 V2 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply
And if it does are there any 1000 w out there? As this machine is now sitting in the corner as a server now but I would liek to use it for 3d as this is the orginal idea.
I cant beta test 3d engines wioth out higth end graphics on wide screen. I know 6 monitors bit exsive but sky rim looks the nutss.
Any advise welcome.
I will give it another month or 2 then I will just rip it apart and put in a atx board

@thejackel
Carl,
If you truly want to run six monitors (insane resolution) then you should consider a custom built PC with a motherboard that will support ATI Crossfire. What you are asking for only shows up in magazines such as Maximum PC and Computer Power User.
I would start with the motherboard supporting PCI-E version 3 and Crossfire mode. Then get one upper end ATI 79xx video card. If you don't get the frame rates that your desire then get a matching ATI 79xx video card. You'll also need a high end fully modular power supply to handle the video card power requirements and the power connectors. A full size tower cabinet and liquid cooling is also something else to consider.
I not saying that you can't eventually turn the 8100 into the desired system but it's not the route that I would take.

I'm looking to upgrade from a 160w to a 400w psu. Is there anything that I should know about in terms of compatabily? I'm pretty sure that the psu will physically fit into my case, but if there anything to consider or can I just plug in all the leads and then leave it to it? Is there a chance that the extra power might damage any of the components? Or will it just run fine, with the graphics card being supplied with an adequate amount of power?

Hello,
I have a Proliant ML110 G5 and am thinking about buying a ML110 G6, but I'm afraid of PSU deaths and I'd like quick and easy replacements with "generic" ATX PSUs.
Can anyone confirm whether ML Proliants can be used with any regular PSU?
I'm also thinking about HP Pro 3400 (3300 seems too slim).
Thank you!
