How do I unlock the  "Power Button Lockout" on my monitor?

I have the HP W2072a monitor and while taking a class online today, the  Power Button Lock-Out sessage box popped up in the middle of the screen. I have tried holding the power button down and I have tried unplugging the monitor but the monitor won't shut off. What else can I try. I was taking notes for the class when this happened so I am not sure how the it went into lock-out mode in the first place.

I followed the directions to turn off my monitor, and it didn’t work.  The screen says “Power Button Lockout”.  I held the power button down 10 seconds and it didn’t fix the problem.

The white power light on my HP P17a is continuously blinking and the screen does not turn on.  Is there anything that I can do to get it to work?

3. Error message (if any)
• Example: ""Low disk space"" error in Windows
4. Any changes made to your system before the issue occurred
• Examples: Upgrading your Operating System or installing a new software; or installing new hardware like a printer, modem, or router.
