HP Pavilion HPE h8-1050z CTO Desktop PC with Windows 7 64-bit
AMD Phenom II X6 1065T six-core processor

8GB DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM

My PC has a H-RS880-uATX (Aloe) motherboard.  I'm interested in upgrading my processor and was looking into the Phenom II X6 1100T.  As far as i know i would have no issues in doing so.  The problem is that now that the AMD FX series processors have been introduced, it seems retailers are phasing out the Phenoms and those that are left have seen an increase in price that im not very willing to pay.  I am now looking into the AMD FX 6100 (six core) processor which, as the 1100T, also runs as 3.3Ghz. What i want to know is if this FX series processor is compatable with my motherboard?  From what i have researched, it is.  Furthermore, if i wanted even more speed, could the H-RS880-uATX handle any of the 8 core FX processor options?  Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

It looks as if the fx series are all AM3+, and I believe that the H-RS880-uATX (Aloe) motherboard is only an AM3. Which would mean its not compatible.

I am wondering the same thing, I have the same mother board in my  HP p6270z desktop. I have recently been upgrading components starting with ram, and now I'm going to get these

I'm looking at a processor upgrade next, and I'm unsure how far i can upgrade this.

These are my current preferences, but faster is always better

It seems your right, man.  The FX are all, indeed, AM3+ and from what i understand there could be stability issues if anyone tried to throw an AM3+ CPU onto a AM3 motherboard.

Yeah, I think I'm going to go with the phenom 6 core next. I'm trying to avoid upgrading my mobo. Hopefully the 6 cores are actually compatible.
