Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB3033929)

My computer tries to do a windows update but the following fails to install/update. It winds up reverting changes. I tried the suggestions but still this important update won't install. What is the problem & how can I fix it? Please help. This is the update that fails:

You will find the problem descpription more elaborated in http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_update/kb3033929-fails-to-install... In my opinion the problem is not dependent on the computer manufacturer. My system configuration is identical to yours.
