Just a follow-up post for anyone reading this topic who is considering this bios update to fix a similar sleep/wake problem.
Yesterday, the sleep/wake problem returned, even with the 5.29 bios update installed. It took a number of hard reboots to make it go away. From past experience, the problem will probably return sooner or later.
Other than that pre-existing problem, the bios update seems to work okay.

After I use 5.29 to updated my mb MCP61PM-HM REV 2.2. my mb is totally dead. terrible. when I updated my mb using this 5.29 in vista 32bit. it showed success to update. then ask to reboot my computer. after that, the screen blank. no keyboard light then after a few second. then computer auto switch off. I tried to clear cmos, even move out battery. but no help with them. Do you any solution? Please let me know. Thanks!

Ouch. Sounds like bad news, supremegood.
I can't realy help you other than to say that the 5.29 bios update works fine on my MCP61PM-HM (nettle3) m/b with vista x64.
Do you even get the initial bios splash screen?
A really very good hp employee resouce is sumsolstice. He helped me a lot. I would recommend trying to send him a private message.
Good luck.

I have the same MB (MCP61PM-HM (nettle3) motherboard) as mentioned above but the question never was answered about the M2CP61PM-HM (nettle3) motherboard that is stated on the HP bios update.
This is very confusing and shakey at best when you are trying to find an updated Bios.
Is this a missprint..typo ? I could not find the M2... MB on the ECS web sight either.
It was asked a couple of times in this message.
