OMEN 17.3 inch Gaming Laptop PC 17-ck1000 (509V8AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I typically used a Dell WD19S docking station to connect my laptop to two ultra wide monitors via the USB-C port on the left side of my laptop. When I first bought the PC a few years ago it had no issues. One day the monitors would not connect. I simply stopped using external monitors and after about a year, tried monitors again and to my surprise it worked. Fast forward to now, the monitors and docking station had been working great until just yesterday. I am having the same problem again where the laptop does not detect any monitors through the USB-C port. I have tried restarting my computer, updating all drivers (even for the docking station), turning off and back on again my graphics card, and troubleshooting connections. I have another laptop (work) that connects to the monitors in the same way (its a dell workstation) and it is still working without any connection issues. So I know this is not the docking station, or the connection. It is the HP Omen laptop and for some reason it just stopped working - no updates or anything. Unfortunately, this has been a huge inconvenience for me since I enjoy gaming and working on ultrawide monitors. I will probably sell this laptop and buy a Dell workstation if I can't get a fix for this, and will steer others away from HP because of this issue. I hope this is a simply fix, I have scoured the internet for solutions and haven't found anything that works. So if you have any ideas for a fix, please let me know, it is greatly appreciated.

I figured it out... there is a youtube video of someone doing a power reset or a power drain. This process fixed this issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhCLOoHljlc. I don't quite understand why this corrects the issue, it appears there might be other ways to do a power drain too without having to remove the back panel and remove the battery - however, I have not tried any of these methods. Anyway, for those of you finding your way to this page with the same issue... I hope this helps. It certainly did for me. Good luck, maybe buy something like a dell workstation in the future lol I know I will.
