Hi, again @PJ03 :

Check out what this person posted...it's a long shot but maybe it will work for your notebook's model series as well.

Solved: Built-in speakers not working - HP Support Community - 9025329

Paul_Tikkanen, that (Solved: Built-in speakers not working - HP Support Community - 9025329) didn't work.   But thank you so much for your willingness to help find a solution!

I am going to try the latest HP Cloud Recovery again.

Paul_Tikkanen,  I downloaded the latest HP Cloud Recovery to a flash drive and used it to install Windows 11. . .and, the sound still does not work

Windows is now automatically downloading the upgrade to Windows 11, version 23H2.   And it's installing this:  Sound Research Corp. - AudioProcessingObject - 2.0.11.35.  After it finishes and I reboot, I will report back.  Fingers crossed and 🙏.

Still no sound after reinstalling Windows 11 using the newly created HP Cloud Recovery Tool on a new flash drive (I also used a "new" HP hard drive/SSD for the reinstallation this time). . .and still no sound after  Windows just now automatically upgraded to Windows 11 version 23H2.  I've never had audio problems prior to this.  The Victus laptop is only 8-months-old.  I feel so helpless!  Any more ideas, Paul_Tikkanen?

Sorry, that even the HP cloud recovery tool didn't restore the audio.

I searched the forum and could not find any related discussions regarding the audio not working on the 15-fa0xxx model series.

Unfortunately, I am out of suggestions at this point.

@Paul_Tikkanen, could you explain, in layman terms, exactly what happened with this?  Did Microsoft install a bad driver that messed up my audio?  I just really don't understand why whatever happened cannot be reversed/ uninstalled and then corrected with a driver that WILL work.  I mean, apparently, my speakers are not damaged since external speakers work.

HP Recommended

I wish I could explain what happened.

What makes no sense to me is that everything checks out fine and the cloud recovery tool installed the original operating system image that should have restored the sound since any updates that may have knocked out the sound down the road hadn't been installed yet.

Sound works fine with the headphones/external speakers...

Since your PC is under warranty, I suggest you submit a support case to HP under the warranty.

Sadly, my laptop is not under warranty.   All HP products are SUPPOSED to have a 1-year warranty but there is some sort of error with that, with this laptop, and the warranty expired after only 5 months.

@Paul_Tikkanen, after my last reply I was able to do an HP Chat with a real agent and I was allowed to purchase a post 1 year warranty.  PRAISE GOD!

I want to thank you again for your relentless pursuit of solutions for this, Paul!  You are definitely an HP "Expert"!   🙂  May God bless you abundantly!

Glad you were able to get warranty support for your notebook.

May God Bless you too, and I hope your notebook's sound gets fixed!
