Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fa1000 (9G8X9AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

hi, i recently got myself a hp victus laptop (15-fa1970nd) but running into some issues with the ram and the games i play. so im looking to upgrade the ram from 2x 8gb to a 2x 16gb, but im looking and comparing my options and the mhz and cl confuse me a bit. so my question would be what is best? 3200mhz and 22cl or 2400 mhz and 16cl (there are also options in between)? cuz a lower cl is more important then high mhz right? but the mhz drop when going for a lower cl seems so significant... and does my laptop even support the ram upgrade cuz i cant find anything on that either.

Hi:

The service manual indicates the maximum memory is 2 x 8 GB.

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

That seems pretty low to me.

The Crucial memory report indicates it will support 2 x 32 GB of memory, so 2 x 16 GB should work fine.

You want DDR4-3200 MHz CL22.

I don't recommend that you buy any performance memory.
