I was running the latest firmware update on one of my VSX700A units and it hung at the step 2 main image part. I finally cancelled the update and now the unit is stuck at run softupdate.exe on the screen. I try to run the update again and it tells me wrong password. I've tried the password I used during the first update that hung and that doesn't work and also tried the serial number and that didn't work. Any ideas on what I can do?

Hello Booder34,
I understand that you are having some issues with the unit booting after a failed software update. You mentioned at this point that the unit is not accepting your password and is not booting to the main menu. I would recommend attempting the steps below and then running the software update.
To reset the system, follow these steps:
1. Hold down the 0 button on the remote control while booting the unit, to access the Boot UI screen.
2. Start the ERFL process by pressing the following button sequence on the remote control:
## 33 77 55 Select Select
then
### 333 777 555 Select Select Select.
Note:Keep alternating between the two sequences until ERFL starts.
3. Restart the system after the ERFL process is complete. Otherwise, you will have trouble running Softupdate.
4. Run Softupdate.
