In Service manual, T5800 changeable with:

Intel Core2 Duo T9600 2.80-GHz processor with 6-MB L2 cache and 1066-MHz FSB 483859-001

Intel Core2 Duo T9400 2.53-GHz processor with 6-MB L2 cache and 1066-MHz FSB 483860-001

Intel Core Duo T8600 2.40-GHz processor with 3-MB L2 cache and 1066-MHz FSB 483861-001 (I thing, it's P8600)

Intel Core Duo T8400 2.26-GHz processor with 3-MB L2 cache and 1066-MHz FSB 486523-001 (I thing, it's P8400)

They differ in the type of the socket... (PGA478: T9600, T9400, P8600, P8400, PPGA478: T5800)

Download and run CPU-z. It will tell you what CPU is installed and which socket format it is.

Core2 Duo 2.20-GHz processor, 4-MB L2 cache, 800-MHz front side bus (FSB)

I cross referenced the information from the Service & Maintenence guide to the T7500 socket P processor

This CPU is a 400 MHz performance increase that you will notice and appreciate.

Hi,

I have a Pavilion dv6-2030ev and I want to know if there is a problem and my rams running at 667 MHz although are 1333 DDR3. Can I do something to make the running at 1333 or is my laptops' problem? Also If I upgrade my two memories with this will I notice any speed difference or they run again at 667 from 1066??

Thanks,

Chris

667mHz is 1333 DDR3. It is a double data rate. That is what the DDR stands for.  🙂  Double it (2*667)and mathematically you will get approximately 1333.

If you upgrade the memory modules be certain and purchase guaranteed compatible memory modules and replace them as a set. Do not mix and match memory module sizes and speeds. By that I mean use  a pair of  identical 4GB DDR3 memory modules. Only purchase top brands link Kingston, Crucial and  Corsair to name just a few.

Erico

A great post I found after lot of searching!!

I have an oldie- 2003 ze5385us and it is in not-working condition for past 1 year. The old symptoms have still not gone- RAM gets hot -> fan runs always -> battery goes for less time. I hardly found support for this in India- including all HP service centres!

My question now is:

1. Can I replace the RAMs. I think these are DDR1, is there any brand of RAMs I should buy?

2. I also want to replace the HDD. Being 2003 model, I guess it would be IDE. What are my options?

Thanks in advance.

Of course you can replace both RAM and HDD!

Western Digital is one of the best hdd manufacter. WD Scorpio Blue is still in production with IDE interface 😉

About memmory corsair has DDR1 and I think is the best value for money!!!

High quality both brands!

Hope help you 🙂
