HP ENVY 5540
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My printer is connected to a PC and a laptop via WIFI. I can scan from the PC using the HP PC software  installed on the  computer.

But when I use the console on the printer to scan , it comes up with  computer not accessible.  Windows 10 OS  is running

What setting am I missing.  I was able to scan using console hen only the laptop was connected. Now with a PC added it does not work

Welcome to the HP Forums, this is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you are getting scan to computer is no longer available error. I would like to help you resolve this issue.

However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,

  • How is the printer connected to computer, wired or wireless?

Meanwhile:

Update the printer firmware.

Click here and refer the document to perform to update the firmware.

If that does not work, try these steps:

  1. Press the Power button on the HP printer to turn it off.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the HP printer.
  3. Disconnect the power cord from the wireless router.
  4. Turn off the computer.
  5. Wait 30 seconds.
  6. Reconnect the power cord to the wireless router.
  7. Wait 30 seconds, or until the router is fully on and ready.
  8. Turn the computer back on.
  9. Wait for the computer to reload.
  10. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the HP printer.
  11. Turn the printer back on.

Let me know if that helps.

Cheers.
