Ok, first and foremost this isn't a windows or driver issue. So what version of windows I am running is irrelevant.
The printer is the photosmart D110, don't know if it's a or b, doesn't say anything on the printer about that.
I can get it to connect to the router just fine, but once it's been on for a while, it disconnects, and won't reconnect until I restart both router and printer. Everything else connected to the router works fine, and are still connected when this happens. Also if i shut the printer off, when I turn it back on, it will not connect. Starting to think this thing is a POS.
As far as the router is concerned it is a westell dsl modem/router. A90-750018-07 is the model number, it's the same as used by verizon, only it's from fairpoint communications.
I would really like to fix this, as it is not me who uses it, it is my girlfriends, and she needs it to be wireless and working correctly. Especially since she isn't very knowlegable when it comes to computers.
Any help would be appreciated.

I'll look into this and do my best to provide a solution for you.

Static ip's typically address intermittent connection issues. I borrowed this from another issue and it solved the problem as well. This is assuming it's the D110a.
First, when the printer is connected to your network, print a network configuration page from the front panel of the printer.
Press the setup button, then wireless, and print network configuration page.
On this page, use the ip address of the printer and type that into the address bar of your internet browser on your computer. That will take you to the printer's embedded web server (EWS). Look for the networking tab. Change the automatic ip addressing to static (manual) ip. You will then enter the ip address of the printer, followed by the subnet mask and finally the default gateway, info that will be on the network configuration page you printed. Below that, you will set 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as the primary and secondary DNS.
After that, apply the changes, and it shouldn't drop off the network randomly anymore. Let me know if this helps.

Have already assigned it a static IP address, only thing that is different from what you said is dns servers, I will add those, but don't see how dns will rectify the connection problem. When I go back over I'm going to try disabling the router function of the dsl modem, and try using an actual router and see if that changes anything. Any other ideas would be a great help.
