How to remove an old printer from my account

I had a 5530 printer that I gave away. Now I have a 7255 printer added to my account and HP Connect will not let me print from my new printer. How do I remove the old printer from my account?

Old Printer

It might be possible to extract an unwanted printer that is stuck in HP Smart / HP Connected -- doing so does depend on you being able to track down a "Remove Printer" setting in the hierarchy for that printer.  An example of one possible scenario is provided later in this message.

At the very least, you can try removing the unwanted printer from your HP Account Dashboard > My Devices

Next,

It is entirely possible (likely?) the new printer cannot be added to the HP Smart / HP Connected account as a destination for Print Anywhere unless and until you accept and enable the HP+ service contract.

What?

I was unable to access Print Anywhere on a new eligible printer until I accepted and enabled the HP+ service.

OK.

HP+ is a "big deal" in the sense that while free, the service does some with requirements and responsibilities for both you and HP.

READ - then decide whether you want HP+ and Print Anywhere enough to sign up for the HP+ service package.

HP+ does give supported printers access to Print Anywhere -- nice.  Similar to the old ePrint tech.
