I have the HP Officejet 100 Mobile Printer - L411a.

I have downloaded the driver. I can print. The device does not show up under Bluetooth devices as it should.

Everything is on. The Bluetooth light on the printer is on. I have reinstalled the driver. I have restarted the printer and laptop (laptop doesn't show up on phone either). I followed all of HP's troubleshoot steps but no luck.

How do I make the printer show up under Bluetooth devices?

Thanks

Hi @jq007,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you've already tried several troubleshooting steps, but let's see if we can figure this out together.

Here are a few additional steps you could try:

  • Check Compatibility: Ensure that your printer model is indeed compatible with your laptop's Bluetooth version. Sometimes, older printers may not work properly with newer Bluetooth standards.
  • Update Bluetooth Drivers: Make sure your laptop's Bluetooth drivers are up-to-date. You can usually do this through your laptop manufacturer's website or Windows Update.
  • Reset Bluetooth Settings: On both your laptop and printer, try resetting the Bluetooth settings to default. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.
  • Check Printer Settings: Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your printer and that it's set to be discoverable. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.
  • Pair Manually: Instead of relying on automatic detection, try manually pairing your laptop with the printer. On your laptop, search for Bluetooth devices and select the option to manually add a device. Follow the on-screen instructions and enter any necessary passcodes.
  • Use Different Devices: If possible, try connecting your printer to a different device via Bluetooth, such as a smartphone or another computer. This can help determine if the issue lies with your laptop or the printer itself.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for the assistance.

Most of that, I already tried.

  • Update Bluetooth Drivers: Make sure your laptop's Bluetooth drivers are up-to-date. <I went to Device Manager, clicked update on all my bluetooth devices, and Windows says all my bluetooth drivers are up to date with newest drivers.
  • Check Printer Settings: Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled... <Yes. It's enabled. It's one button.
  • Pair Manually: On your laptop, search for Bluetooth devices... <***It's not showing up to pair manually. That's the issue.
  • Use Different Devices: <Doesn't show on cellphone Bluetooth devices either; already tried HP printing app

You mentioned two solution I need further assistance with, please.

  • Check Compatibility: Ensure that your printer model is indeed compatible with your laptop's Bluetooth version. Sometimes, older printers may not work properly with newer Bluetooth standards.
<<<That is likely the case. But if my laptop is newer than the printer, I thought it would be able to work with any older bluetooth devices. Is that not the case? How do I ensure it's compatible? (Finding out that a bluetooth enabled computer might not be compatible with any bluetooth devices... what a disappointment.... Ugh...)
  • Reset Bluetooth Settings: On both your laptop and printer, try resetting the Bluetooth settings to default.
    <<<*How??

Thank you!
