Hi,

My HP Support assistant shows I need to calibrate my battery. But ater pressing the power butteon and pressing f2 button I'm bought to a page that says "HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI version 1.26.0.0 BIOS" and there are only option for Memory Test, Harrware Test and System test. There is no option for extensive memory test of Calibration. What should I do?

See if the newest UEFI include a battery test.  That test is not the same as doing a calibration.

HP releases newer UEFI diagnostics periodically.
When you select F2 during boot you are requesting UEFI diagnostics.
There is an updated diagnostics package Click Here
Look for the phrase 'issues outside the OS',
Expand the '+' symbol and click the DOWNLOAD button.
The version of the UEFI diagnostics is shown at the left of that DOWNLOAD button.
When you press F2 to run diagnostics please ensure the version is the new one.

This can be installed from a USB flash drive if necessary.

Have you done a battery calibration?

Thank you very much. After updating UEFI the problem has been solved.

I am glad you got it working.  You may want to run a battery report to see how your battery has been doing and estimate how long it might last.

The battery report is another tool that can be used to diagnose battery problems. Please run the battery report and post the summery if you wish.

You run the battery report by bringing up the administrator command window and running

powercfg/batteryreport

as shown below

After entering that explorer line you should see something like the following. You will have to click on it as it is long
https://stateson.net/docs/SP4_battery-report.html

The summery info is good to tell if you have a genuine battery and how many cycles the battery has gone through.

Does my laptop has a CMOS battery? If I run an extensive memory test and battery is completely discharged will that effect date and time? If the time and date is effected should I be worried?

HP Recommended

The only laptops that have CMOS are those old ones that have detachable battery.

Make sure the date and time are correct as that can affect windows updates.
