HP Recommended

I own an HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec2049nw, and I am considering upgrading its storage capacity. Before proceeding, I would like to confirm the following details:

  1. Does my laptop support an additional storage drive (e.g., an extra M.2 NVMe or a 2.5-inch SATA SSD/HDD slot)?
  2. If yes, could you please specify the compatible types and formats for the additional drive?
  3. Are there any specific guidelines or recommendations I should follow when upgrading the storage on this model?

Your guidance will help me ensure compatibility and avoid any potential issues during the upgrade process.

Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to your response.

A1. Yes but ONLY 2.5" SATA HDD (or SSD)

A2. You can

      (a) REPLACE existing drive using larger (capacity) up to 4TB - very safe to use 2TB

      (b) or add 2.5" SATA SSD to your machine but you need more parts

A3. (a) quick way: clone old drive to new drive then swap

       (b) You need Hard drive connector/cable part # L72698-001 you can buy from https://partsurfer.hp.com/?searchtext=L72698-001

Regards.
