Microstutters are completly ruining my gaming experience. Bad fps 1% lows on games that arent even demanding, although avg fps is high. Occurs mostly on multiplayer games with some single player exceptions. Did all the routines(updating drivers, windows, battery performance etc). Low GPU utilization. All suggests to either CPU or RAM bottleneck. Dont want to experiment with removing or replacing RAM since that could nulify the warranty. What should I do?

Hi @Karlo6,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
The microstutters and low 1% lows you're experiencing could indeed stem from a CPU or RAM bottleneck, or even from background processes interfering with performance. Since you're cautious about maintaining your warranty, here are steps you can take to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue:
-Update the BIOS for your PC by clicking on the link.
Make sure you keep only the charger plugged in while updating the BIOS for your PC.
Click on the + sign next to BIOS and then download the file.
Open the file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
-Install all the pending updates for the Windows operating system following the below steps and let me know if that resolves the issue.
Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and select Check for updates. If the upgrade is available for your device and you want to proceed, download and install it.
If the issue still persists, refer to the below steps to further troubleshoot.
1. Monitor Performance Metrics
- Use tools like HWInfo or MSI Afterburner to monitor CPU, GPU, and RAM usage while gaming.
- Check if the CPU or RAM is hitting 100% utilization during the stutters.
- Look for sudden spikes in disk or network activity.
2. Disable Background Processes
- Use Task Manager to identify unnecessary processes or applications running during gameplay.
- Consider enabling Game Mode in Windows to optimize resources.
3. Verify Storage Performance
- Check if your game is installed on an SSD. Slow storage can cause stuttering, especially in open-world or multiplayer games.
- Run a diagnostic check on your SSD or HDD for potential issues.
4. Check for Throttling
- Ensure the laptop is running on maximum performance settings in the OMEN Gaming Hub.
- Use HWInfo to verify if CPU or GPU temperatures are causing thermal throttling. Clean the laptop's vents if needed.
5. Tweak RAM Settings in BIOS
- Check if your RAM is running at the correct speed. If it's lower than specified, enable XMP (Extreme Memory Profile) or equivalent in the BIOS (if available).
6. Optimize Network for Multiplayer
- For multiplayer games, ensure you have a stable and low-latency internet connection. Use a wired connection if possible or optimize Wi-Fi by reducing interference.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a great day ahead!
