I have a new (Jun purchase) HP DV7T-6100 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC. I just noticed that after normal shutdown there is an approximately 1% / day leakage in the battery. That is if I shutdown with the battery at 100% capacity and then use the notebook in 10 days, the capacity will be at 90%. Is this normal?

Hi,

Yes, it's normal and is one of the chemical properties of a lithium ion battery.

I have bought HP- 15-ab030TX Laptop on 16-08-2015. That is, it is less than 300 days old. But its battery is 502 days old. I have been given old battery in new laptop,

Now when I fully charge it, and turn it off and start it after 5 days, the battery is completely discharged. Laptop will not start on battery. I have to put it on AC adapter. That means it is discharging at the rate of 20%/day and this is very high. When it is fully charged, the battery works up to 3 hours when Laptop is on. I do not have heavy aplications like games or so.

When I talked to HP service center, the executive told me that this is very normal. He simply refuses to accept it as hardware problem. He even refused to take complaint to send his service technician to check the mother-board or any othe leaking circuit in the laptop.

Will top brass of HP listen and help,
