I have a new HP Pavilion 15-eg0000 (172Z8AV) notebook, purchased a few days ago. I have found an issue which bothers me now. This problem has already been reported in this forum for 14-inch version of this laptop (14-dv0054TU): https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Tablets-and-Mobile-Devices/Battery-meter-in-taskbar-not-updating-batte...), but no answer was provided.
The problem is that the battery meter in the taskbar is not updating the battery percentage during discharge cycles. It stays for example on 90% after switching on the notebook on battery, then it drops only 1% and finally stays unchanged until the battery is running flat. I am able to refresh it by restarting the screen (restarting Windows/putting it to sleep and back/hibernate) or by opening the HP Support Assistant application/refreshing it.
The drivers are updated, all updates of Windows are installed. I tried to callibrate the battery according to the official video by HP on YouTube, but it did not help as well.
Has anyone been able to solve this issue? It seems to by the problem with entire series of HP Pavilion notebooks, but not all are aware of it. I am looking forward to hearing from HP specialists and other users of this laptop.

We understand that issue with the battery, not showing battery percentage.
Check for the BIOS update?
Check windows update?
Apologies for all the inconvenience. Request you to follow the below troubleshooting steps
I have a few steps listed below that should help you resolve this concern:
Unplug the charge and use the laptop until the battery drains to 15%.
Turn off the laptop and turn it back on after 30mins.
Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager:
1) In the search box, type, and open “Device Manager”.
2) Expand “Batteries”.
3) Right-click the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" that is listed there.
4) Click on “Uninstall”.
5) At the prompt put a check in the box to remove the current driver
6) Shutdown the computer.
7) Remove the battery for minute and then put it back in.
😎 When the computer comes back up it should automatically find the driver.
9) Go to Device Manager.
10) Expand Batteries.
11) Right-click the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" that is listed there.
12) Click "Search automatically for updated driver software"
Do the same thing with Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller.
Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.

Sorry for late reply.
I followed your steps, but the same issue still exists.
But in the meanwhile I installed the application that gives very detailed battery info including percentage, number of discharge cycles, health, voltage etc. called 'BatteryInfoView 1.23'. While this app is running in the background, the battery percentage in Windows works 'nearly' OK: there are no battery details between 100 and 94% ("100% charged" stays for a longer while until the battery discharges to 94%), but below 94% it drops 93, 92, 91 and so on, as it should.
So, I think that this is a phenomenon with the architecture of the battery used in this model that Windows 10 cannot handle on its own. Maybe it requires a new driver from HP, otherwise it seems like the nature of this battery.
And yes - Windows is up to date, as well as BIOS (F.20 from July 2021).
