HP 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-c0000 (2W0J9AV)

Hi,

What are the HP part numbers for the below parts for an HP 17-cn0104na HDD assembly please:-

1. Hard Drive Cover / Bumper / Caddy?

2. Hard Drive Cable?

and is the Drive cover for a 7mm or 9.5mm high drive please, I already have a SSD Adapter Spacer 7mm to 9.5mm just incase I need one.

PS is there an assembly drawing of it somewhere, there is nothing in the service and maintenance manual that shows it? L

This is the only picture, details, from HP, I have actually got, that shows some of it. It's from there EOL document :-

HP 17 HDD Caddy Cover L22534-001 Pic 2.jpg

This appears to be part no. L22534-001, it has 2 corners, two straight corners, 2 clips, and supports for the drive, but it has two spacer pads?

If HP don't know, how are end users supposed to know, what part numbers we need?

Both HP Part no's can't be right for this L22534-001 / 166018049331, when they are quiet clearly different?

I will never buy HP again, after this, they don't have any support for there own products what so ever.

Thanks in advance

@Desmond_Maughan,

Your service manual (on page 2) says your model supports a 7 mm 2.5" hard drive.

Maintenance and Service Guide

Page 42 of the manual shows an illustration of the hard drive assembly and part number of the hard drive cable, but no part number for the rubber caddy.

Amazon carries a hard drive cable and rubber caddy that may work for your model.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, I did see page 42, but it only lists the cable part number, as for the caddy part number, or even having any idea what it should even look like, absolutely not a chance from this drawing.

I have seen ones for other laptops, and they clearly break down the drive assembly, showing all parts.

I must have spent a month now trying to work out the caddy, there must be 10 different part numbers that I have seen, and all different in one way or another. It would be helpful if the part number, and exploded drawing of the HDD assembly was added to the manual, then people don't need to ask, what is a rather simple question.

I will take it both numbers as above are for my particular model, all 17" models are all not the same.

Just for anyone else looking for this particular part no. here's a picture of it, you will notice two silver clips on one side, no black plastic retainers on the outside of the outside rails, no black spacing pads on the clear plastic, and it only has 3 corners, one is straight.

NOTE/ The part no. 6051B1465201, is from Amazon, I know of no official HP source, that shows or states it. We really shouldn't have to have to use Amazon for part numbers, when the HP part surfer, doesn't have them. As you say it may work, I wonder if NASA used the same approach to put man on the moon?

Thank you

The above page is the only thing I have found out of an HP EOL dismantling document for 17" laptops. This has listed the same part number 6017B1554201 on it, but if you compare it side by side to the Amazon picture of the same part number, they look quiet different. So one must be wrong, as to which answers on a postcard please?
