I am wondering what RAM I can upgrade to for 64GB. I have two DIMM slots and looking to change the 16GB the system came with to 32GB in each slot.

Can anyone direct me to what I can use?

Thank you,

The Crucial memory report indicates you can:

HP Pavilion 17-cn2000 | Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | Crucial.com

HP only has the service manual for the older 17-cn1000 model series which indicates the max memory is 2 x 8 GB.

Maintenance and Service Guide

You can go with what the manual indicates and do nothing, what Crucial indicates and take your chances (Crucial is almost always right), or you can run this command to see what Windows indicates:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and press the enter key.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

Thank you, it shows 64GB. But I have used the Crucial, Micron, and Corsair scanner and none of them can tell me what RAM I can use.

The Corsair scanner gives me the model number of the RAM installed as 9905700-122.A00G and when I Google it, it says it's Kingston. But I can't find that specific memory on their website.

I don't know what RAM I can use.
