Product: HP Pro Book 4740s H5L38EA#UUZ
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit) 
I have an HP Pro Book 4740 Windows 7 upgarded Windows 10 Notbook with HP DVDRAM GT80N DVD-ROM drive
This reader does not recognize CD ou DVD-ROM+R question : 
is it only a reader and not a burner or what type CD-rom required ?

HP Recommended

On that model HP only offered a DVD burner or a Blu-Ray reader and DVD burner combo so it should recognize a CD-ROM or DVD-RW so I suspect your drive has gone bad and needs replacement if it will not read a disc.
