I purchased a HP Envy x360 2-in-1 Laptop in 2022. A few days ago, I opened it, and the right hinge disconnected. The plastic seems to have broken at the mounting points where the hinge attaches to the lid. The hinge is still stuck in the same position, making the laptop difficult to open and close. My laptop is out of waranty, but is there any way to get this fixed? This laptop has been very reliable for me over the last two years and I would be very disappointed if I were unable to use it to continue my academic studies.

Hello.
It may very well be possible to have the hinges fixed. I recommend taking the laptop to a HP authorized service partner and have them take a look and quote for the hinges and labor.
It is also possible for you to replace the hinges but I don't recommend it unless you are already familiar with laptop electronics. For this you would need to identify the laptop model number first since there have been several Envy x360 models. Try Fn+ESC button combo in Windows first, it will launch HP System Information window with this information. It is also printed in very small font probably on the bottom of your laptop, and looks like something like "14-ec0123xy".
With the model number we can track the correct Maintenance and Service Guide for your laptop which contains all the spare part numbers and illustrated instructions.
Most likely HP also has instructional hardware replacement videos for your laptop model on their Youtube channel.
