Hi,
hunybunny wrote:When I run the sp53216.exe ,
"Warning: cannot check platform ID."
error message pops. I have the Windows version upgraded to Windows 7
from the original Vista that was on the notebook.
This warning is showing up because this Bios update is not for your model.
Latest Bios updates for your specific model you may find here.
Warning!
Bios update is always very risky. Your notebook may not boot after this step, so be careful and have full patience. You will perform this update at your own risk. I do not take responsibility for any problems.
How to update Bios?
First check which Bios version you've got now. This information may be very helpful if ther will be any problem.
Connect the notebook to the AC power supply.
Disconnect from the internet. Exit from all programs that you are running. Disable anti-virus and firewall.
Execute the Bios update exe file. It may take some time. Allow the notebook to restart after applying the updated BIOS.
While this update is running do not:
- switch off your laptop,
- disconnect AC power supply,
- try to run any software or do anything on it .
PS.
Processor which is mounted in your notebook (specifications here) does not support Vt-x, so there is no hardware support for virtualization technology.

You are right, the Intel part in this notebook does not support VT-x :
Thanks anyway. The BIOS update to F.44 worked well for me.

@yreveill
Hi,
What do you mean by restore? Restore to the previous BIOS version, use the default settings for the current BIOS version or something else?
