My battery bloated for HP Spectre x360 15-ch000na Convertible L .
Saw in the forums others got the same experience for this battery model 928372 855

I dont know if i should buy the same battery model and im afraid it might happen again. I hope there is already an upgraded one.

What type of battery should I buy?

Hello.

The only battery type specified for your laptop is that 928372-855, so you are really limited to that one model.

There may be 3rd party batteries available that have the same dimensions, voltage and capacity but I cannot give any recommendations.

If you never move your laptop from a desk you can also operate it with no battery installed.

Hi, can I still use it as is? or can it catch fire/explode?

Well, HP has their own document about swollen batteries:

"A swollen battery does not present a safety issue."

The battery can however deform the bottom cover or laptop internals irrecoverably, including the battery compartment which may make fitting a replacement battery harder.

Consider running the laptop without a battery if you can't find or afford a replacement. You will need to keep the AC adapter connected all the time - the laptop will turn off immediately if you unplug it. On a plus side the laptop is at least a bit lighter.
