I bought a new laptop it is showing it has 375 gb free out of 512 gb is it ok??

Yes, for one thing you don't have a full 512 GB of storage available.

 

A 512 GB drive has a net usable storage availability of 476 GB because of how storage space is calculated.

 

why only 475gb on a "512gb ssd" (on a Lenovo laptop) - Laptops and Pre-Built Systems - Linus Tech Ti...

 

Then you have to subtract the installed Windows operating system, drivers and program files the notebook came with.

 

So, 375 GB out of 476 GB is fairly reasonable.
