I recently discovered about external gpu's and I wanted to know if my laptop supports it as it doesn't come with a dedicated graphics memory. I was told to check if my laptop usb type c port has a lightning symbol on it to know if it supports it but my laptop doesn't have it.

Please I want to know if there are other possibilities to determine it,my laptop name is hp laptop 15-dw1159nia.

Chapter 1, page 3 of the service manual indicates the USB-C port supports data transfer only.

 

It is not a Thunderbolt port which would be what you need to support an eGPU.

 

Maintenance and Service Guide HP 15 Laptop PC

 

(1) USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C port (left side); supports data transfer
