After being in sleep mode, the keyboard is completely unresponsive. I have to fix it by restarting my computer, but this is very inconvenient to my work. Can anyone help?

Hi @Isabella5678,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're encountering a problem with your HP Pavilion x360's keyboard after the laptop wakes up from sleep mode. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Update Drivers

  • Keyboard Driver: Go to Device Manager > Keyboards > Right-click on your keyboard and select Update driver.
  • Chipset Driver: Sometimes, chipset drivers can affect how devices like keyboards wake up from sleep mode. Visit the HP Support website to download and install the latest chipset drivers for your model.

Power Settings Adjustments

  • Disable USB Selective Suspend:
    1. Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings.
    2. Scroll down and expand USB settings > USB selective suspend setting.
    3. Set it to Disabled and apply the changes.

Check Keyboard Settings

  • Sometimes, sleep mode affects the keyboard's functionality if it's powered by a separate setting. You can:
    1. Go to Device Manager > Keyboards.
    2. Right-click the keyboard device and select Properties.
    3. In the Power Management tab, uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

Fast Startup

  • Fast Startup can sometimes cause hardware issues when resuming from sleep. You can disable it:
    1. Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do.
    2. Click on Change settings that are currently unavailable.
    3. Uncheck Turn on fast startup and save changes.

BIOS Update

  • Sometimes, a BIOS update can fix compatibility issues with devices after sleep. Check the HP support site for any available BIOS updates for your Pavilion x360 model.

Perform a System Reset

  • If the issue persists, you can perform a system reset or a clean boot to eliminate software conflicts. This might help in case the issue is caused by a third-party application or service.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
