Your notebook's M.2 slot supports SATA M.2 SSD's only, not NVMe.
See chapter 1 of the service manual:
You have to remove the motherboard to get to where the M.2 SSD slot is located.
Unless that is not a problem for you, it would be a lot easier to just replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD since it would work just as well as a M.2 SATA SSD.
