This PC is a bit old, but I have been using it with no big issues since 2014. I'd say a few years ago it
started freezing randomly, but in really spaced out events. In the last year, the frequency is much bigger. It happens randomly when doing anything. The screen basically freezes and the only way out is a hard reset. I have a few times realized that the periphericals stop working a few seconds before but I could still move the built in ponting mouse just a a bit, by very few seconds. I use a USB hub with mouse and keyboard all the time, and sometimes a 420 Huion Graphic Tablet for drawing on Krita, I have been doing that for more than three or four years. When freezing, I can still change the colors of the keyboard lights by pressing its button, or poke the graphic board with the pen and the working led lights on but eventually everything stops
So I ran some hardware diagnostic tools, which did not point to overheating. In fact, sometimes it freezes a few minutes right after booting up. The Pc is now hanging on a laptop metal support and with a big fan pointing to it instead of lying on the table.
Looking for some solutions, I had a RAM upgrade from the 4GB factory to 16GB, system had no trouble recognizing it. The PC indeed became a lot faster, but, still freezing randomly
I ran HDSentinel and it stated my HD health was reaching a critical level of 70%. Then I acquired a new SSD and had it changed in a maintenance store, the guy even exchanged the BIOS battery for a new one and changed the thermal paste. I am running a brand new installation of Windows 10 basic on it, but, it is still freezing
Since there was a warning as soon as the power button was pressed (batery with low charge, might affect performance, we recommend switching it or something like that) and my pc can last like 5 minutes out of the cord, I also removed the battery (I am really up for trying anything) but, still freezing
The computer is now VERY fast and responsive btw. It boots almost instantly when turned on, even right after freezing, specially now that the battery warning doesnt appear. Krita loads faster than ever. The freezing is truly a big shame on it. Krita is basically the most demanding use I have for it. I have the faint impression that it makes the computer freeze quickier (?).
I am trying to decide if i should just go on and change my computer for a new one. Preferably one in which I could get this new SSD in.
But, I would much rather identify my problem and correct it. Can it be that the motherboard hardware is faulty? Or the Intel Video Adapter? The Processor? Power Source? Maybe some keys from the keyboard is faulty and is being pressed? If there is a hardware fault in it that I could at least identify and mark as a non-feasible correction, at least I could accept the need of buying a new PC.
I normally use use a tp-link repeater for wi-fi.
It has also crashed after turning the PC on with no WI-Fi or any USB periherical attached to it. I also normally use a screen on VGA conector but it has also crashed without it.
In windows event viewer there are these red lined events near the time it last crashed (im doing my best at translating)

Hi irwin my pc was in the shop and I didn't really want to write a big text in my phone. Anyway, the it guy made some os reinstall and some physical maintenance on the mb soldering, and said he used the computer ok for hours, but, when I got home, it froze again.
I followed your steps, but my bios doesnt have that exact option, it has memory and hd check, quick and extended. All passed. I didnt find this firmware icon in the control pannel but I did use the hp maintenance software and there doesn't seem to exist any update for my bios
