Hi @blueluvvsyou1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like your HP laptop is having a battery issue that is preventing it from booting up properly. The "HP Battery Alert" with the "Primary (internal) Battery (601)" message indicates that there might be a problem with the battery or its connection. Here are some steps you can follow to try and resolve the issue.

Power Cycle the Laptop:

  • Shut down your laptop.
  • Unplug the charger and remove the battery (if removable).
  • Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reinsert the battery (if removable) and plug the charger back in, then try turning the laptop on.

Try Starting Without the Battery (if removable):

  • If the battery is removable, try starting the laptop with just the charger plugged in and the battery removed. This will help you determine if the issue is with the battery.

Perform Hard Reset:

  • With the laptop off, unplug all peripherals (USB devices, etc.).
  • Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  • Plug in the charger and try turning on the laptop again.

Check Battery Status in BIOS:

  • If you can access BIOS (try pressing F10 or Esc while turning on the laptop), look for the battery status under the "System Information" or "Battery" section. This might give you more insight into the condition of the internal battery.

Run HP Diagnostics:

  • If you can access the BIOS or the HP startup menu (by pressing Esc or F2), run the built-in HP Diagnostics tool to check for hardware issues, particularly with the battery.

Automatic Repair Loop:

  • If the laptop is stuck in the "Preparing Automatic Repair" loop for more than 30 minutes, try restarting the laptop again and see if you can access the Advanced Startup Options by pressing F11 or Shift + F8 during startup.
  • In the Advanced Startup Options, try performing a System Restore or Startup Repair to resolve any software-related issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
