Hello – I’d appreciate some guidance. I have an HP Pavilion laptop 15-cs0o61cl about 6 years old. It has a 512 GB SDD and a 1 TB HDD. I would like to upgrade the SDD drive to at least 1 TB, more if possible. I need to know the hardware specifications for the upgrade and also would appreciate a link to a how to video or document. I’m running Windows 10 (64 bit) with 32 GB RAM. Thank you.

Putting in an SSD will give you more speed, but remember that an NVME is at least 5 times the speed of a SATA-3 SSD. But I think it will work well for your needs.

Hi @Beechie
Yes, you can put any M.2 NVME disk of 1 Tb, 2 Tb or more.

Thank you for your kind assistance. After further thought, I think replacing my 1 TB HDD with a 2TB SSD makes more sense since the 512 GB SSD already in the laptop is my boot drive and then I won't have to reinstall programs/apps and operating system. I do music production with Pro Tools and the new SSD drive will be fast enough to satisfy those demands. So having said all this, does it make sense to you and will the item below work in my laptop? If there is an HP product that would also work I will consider that too. Thank you.

Hi again - I purchased a Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 SSD 2TB to replace the factory 512 GB SSD drive. I would like to get an M2-SSD enclosure so I can clone my current drive onto the new one and then just swap them out, assuming this will work. The enclosures come in various models which have different USB-C cables (i.e., 3.2 gen 1, 3.0, etc.) I am unable to figure out what generation of USB-C port I have on this laptop and an hoping you can provide this information. Thank you very much.
