Hello, i bought a HP Envy x360 march 26, 2023. This has been the worst laptop i have ever owned. I had high hopes with this laptop as the best buy salesman told me it was great. I also paid 1173$ for this laptop. I have since had to replace the battery already because it was a lemon. My battery still is awful and does not hold a charge. i recently also had an issue with my hardrive and a best buy employee was able to fix it by deleting something and praying for the best, he was unsure he was able to even fix it but luckily did. I wanted to trade the laptop in due to all the issues i have had however it is now worth NOTHING. This laptop sells for about $300 at best buy now. How is it i paid over $1,000 just in 2023 for the same laptop? Cleary HP knows this product was very faulty. I am a stay at home mom and also own a small business. i need a reliable laptop and can not afford a new one, now i am stuck with a laptop that works only when it wants too. I was just wondering if HP would be able to replace this laptop?

Welcome to the HP English Community --
Dragon Opinion
It has been my experience that Sales people will do and say anything to make a sale.
Sales people in retails stores sometimes work for the store first and the customer second.
You might ask "Is this a good computer?"
Sales person: "Absolutely !"
Unfortunately, the term "good" is only as useful as the definition behind it.
Is that what happened to you?
No idea -- not all sales people are equal.
What to do?
An almost two year old laptop is certainly worth far less than it might have been worth new.
True -- The models sold at retail stores might -- or might NOT -- be the same models as those sold directly by HP at the HP Store.
Finally - Not-HP stores might continue to sell outdated models until their back-inventory is depleted.
The HP Store sells current models of devices manufactured for the market in which they are intended.
At the Store you will also find models that can be custom made - CTO - Custom-to-Order. CTO purchases are generally limited to moderate to high end machines. Manufacture and delivery take more time than grabbing something "off the shelf".
That "same laptop model" is not new -- at almost two years old, the model is certainly no bargain at any price.
Will HP replace your computer?
Likely not, though you can ask whether HP is willing to give you a small dividend toward a new computer at the HP Store.
I will forward your concerns to our Moderators.
Should there be a response, look for a message here before the agent uses other means to contact you.
