Hi @Leyla0000,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When selecting thermal paste for your HP 250 G7 Notebook PC, it's essential to choose a high-quality brand that provides good thermal conductivity and reliability. Here are some excellent options.

Recommended Thermal Paste Brands:

Arctic MX-4

  • High thermal conductivity.
  • Non-conductive and non-corrosive.
  • Easy to apply and long-lasting.

Noctua NT-H1 or NT-H2

  • Premium-grade thermal paste with excellent thermal performance.
  • Easy to clean and apply.

Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut

  • High-end option for maximum heat dissipation.
  • Ideal for laptops and gaming devices.

Cooler Master MasterGel Pro V2

  • Great balance of thermal performance and affordability.
  • Non-conductive and easy to spread.

Gelid GC-Extreme

  • High-performance thermal paste for demanding users.
  • Suitable for both CPUs and GPUs.

Note:

  • Look for a non-conductive thermal paste to avoid the risk of short circuits if it accidentally spreads beyond the CPU or GPU die.
  • Opt for a long-lasting formula, so you don't need to reapply it frequently.
  • Check the thermal conductivity rating (measured in W/mK) for better heat transfer. Higher values are better.

Any of these brands will work well for your HP 250 G7. Just ensure you clean the old paste thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol before applying the new one. If you'd like instructions on applying thermal paste

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Should I change the thermal pad?

HP Recommended

Hi @Leyla0000,

Thank you for your response,

If you're considering changing the thermal pad, it may be a good idea, especially if your system is overheating or you notice higher temperatures than usual. Thermal pads, like thermal paste, are crucial for transferring heat from your CPU or GPU to the heatsink, and they can wear down over time or lose their effectiveness. Replacing an old or degraded thermal pad could help improve your system's cooling performance.

However, since we already shared recommendations for high-quality thermal paste brands, you might be primarily focused on paste rather than pads. If you feel the thermal pad is still in good condition and your current paste is performing well, you might not need to change the pad. But if you see signs of wear (e.g., it looks dry or cracked), it could be time to replace it as well.

If you're unsure or if you're encountering thermal issues, you can certainly replace both the thermal paste and pad for optimal performance.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
