Hello!
Recently I noticed that the touch screen stopped responding to touch. Found information on the HP website about diagnosing the malfunction. I went through all the steps listed, including reinstalling the driver, checking for HP and Windows updates, diagnosing the touch screen via BIOS. All these actions did not lead to anything. The touch screen does not work. Is there any way to diagnose the malfunction myself or do I need to contact a service center?

Since the screen works, but touch fails, then possibly the cable used for the touch screen is damaged.
Go to the below site and enter your serial number
https://partsurfer.hp.com
Look for the part you need
Once you find the part number you can search the internet for a vendor. Amazon, eBay, AliExpress, all have their own search engines.
Display Screen: Screens can have OEM parts such as LG, Samsung, etc. An HP part number may include the OEM screen plus mounting hardware which makes it easier to replace but sometimes harder to find if the system is older than a few years.
When you search for the part number be sure to include AliExpress as most screens are made in Asia. To find disassembly video click here

If the touch screen fails during UEFI diagnostics then there is a hardware problem.
Have you run diagnostics?
Tap the ESC key after powering on. . Tap it once a second after you see the LEDs on the keyboard flash. When you see the startup menu, press F2 to run diagnostics.
Do not allow any updates if disk or memory fail, especially a BIOS update.
HP releases newer UEFI diagnostics periodically. When you select F2 during boot you are requesting UEFI diagnostics. There is an updated diagnostics package Click Here Look for the phrase 'issues outside the OS', Expand the '+' symbol and click the DOWNLOAD button. |
If a component fails during the UEFI test then Click here to check warranty
Make sure you have the latest Microsoft Windows updates and have also run the HP support assistant to check for updates.
If touch works during UEFI diagnostics then there is a windows problem. let me know.

Yes, I have run UEFI diagnostics after all updates. But test faild. The touch screen did not respond to any touch across the entire area.
One thing I did was connect and disconnect the battery for a few minutes. Nothing.
