Microsoft Windows 11

Hi community!

Is it possible to upgrade wifi on my HP Elitebook 840 G8 from Intel wifi 6 ax201 to Intel WIfi 6e ax211?

I have the module, but i dont want to open the laptop if the laptop is software bios locked to specific modules. Many manufacturers do that and i have my opinions about that bad behaviour, but it is what it is 🙂

Best regards

Can confirm. It does NOT work. Computer boots but doesnt want to start the module and only shows it as network device in device manager.

This is in my opinion a really dumb thing and makes the laptop ewaste much faster. Please let us upgrade our wifi to the newest standard as we please. Bad for enviroment, bad for HP as a brand (just because other do this, doesnt make it OK, and why not be the the first who does approve self wifi upgrade?)

Really bad HP, and literarly every other brand. Please reconsider this bad behaviour.
