HP 15-f387wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I previously created a topic regarding the absence of drivers and software for the HP 15-f387wm, and another member wrote that a BIOS file is needed. The member is requesting the latest UEFI release for this model.

The latest UEFI release for the HP 15-f387wm is the F.45 release by American Megatrends (dated June 11, 2020). Where can the SoftPaq for this release be downloaded (or what is the SoftPaq number for this release)?

Hi @IslandGetaway

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To download the latest UEFI (BIOS) update for your HP 15-f387wm laptop, you can visit HP's official support page. Here's how you can find the BIOS update (F.45):

Steps to Download the BIOS (F.45) for HP 15-f387wm:

Visit the HP Support Website:

  • Go to HP Support.

Enter Your Product Information:

  • Type your laptop's model number, HP 15-f387wm, into the search bar or use the auto-detect option if you have the HP Support Assistant installed.

Select Your Product:

  • If your laptop model is detected, select it from the list of available devices.

Go to the "Software and Drivers" Section:

  • Once on your device's support page, click on the "Software and Drivers" tab.

Select the BIOS Section:

  • In the list of available downloads, look for the BIOS category.
  • Find the latest F.45 BIOS release (this should be the version dated June 11, 2020, as per your mention).

Download the BIOS Update:

  • Click on the Download button to get the SoftPaq for the BIOS update (this will be a .exe file).

BIOS Update Details:

  • Version: F.45
  • Date Released: June 11, 2020
  • SoftPaq Number: You can typically find the SoftPaq number on the BIOS update download page on the HP Support site. If you’re unable to find it directly, the release notes for the BIOS should provide that detail as well.

How to Install the BIOS Update:

Before Installing the BIOS Update:

  1. Backup your important data in case something goes wrong during the update process.
  2. Ensure your laptop is plugged into a power source and that the battery is fully charged.
  3. Close all applications before starting the update.

Installing the BIOS Update:

  1. Once downloaded, locate the .exe file and double-click it to start the installation.
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the update. Your laptop may restart several times during the process.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I appreciate your reply, but the steps you provided did not provide the F.45 UEFI release for the HP 15-f387wm (in fact, the resource you suggested does not even provide drivers or software for the HP 15-f387wm).

Regarding the SoftPaq number, that alone would be helpful, but the steps here did not help.
