Hi @Sanjay-Kumar-Da,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

A blinking Caps Lock light on your HP 15s laptop can indicate a hardware issue or an error code signaling a problem. Here are steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Understand the Blinking Pattern

  • Blink Code: HP laptops use a specific blinking pattern to indicate issues. For example:
    • 1 blink: CPU issue.
    • 2 blinks: BIOS corruption.
    • 3 blinks: Memory issue.
    • 5 blinks: General motherboard failure.

Count the blinks carefully to identify the code. If it’s continuous and not in a pattern, it might indicate a stuck key or firmware issue.

Perform a Hard Reset

A hard reset can clear temporary glitches.

  1. Shut down the laptop.
  2. Disconnect the charger and remove any connected devices.
  3. Press and hold the Power button for 15-20 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the charger and turn on the laptop.

Check for Stuck Keys

  • Ensure the Caps Lock key isn’t physically stuck. Gently press it to see if it responds.

Run a BIOS Recovery

A corrupted BIOS can cause blinking lights. To recover the BIOS:

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Press and hold the Windows key + B (or V for some models), then press the Power button for 2-3 seconds.
  3. Release the Power button but keep holding Windows key + B/V until the laptop enters BIOS recovery mode.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Run Hardware Diagnostics

HP provides built-in diagnostics tools to identify hardware issues.

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Press the Esc key repeatedly while turning it on to open the Startup Menu.
  3. Select System Diagnostics (F2).
  4. Run tests for the keyboard and other hardware.

Update or Reinstall Keyboard Driver

The issue could be related to a driver conflict:

  1. Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Keyboards and right-click your keyboard driver.
  3. Select Update driver or Uninstall device (it will reinstall on reboot).

Reset BIOS to Default

Resetting BIOS settings can help if there’s a misconfiguration:

  1. Enter the BIOS by pressing F10 at startup.
  2. Look for an option like Load Setup Defaults or Restore Factory Settings.
  3. Save and exit.

Check for Windows Updates

Install any pending updates:

  1. Go to Settings > Windows Update.
  2. Click Check for updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
