I am not sure if you can make the flash drive on the locked laptop.
I use my Dell laptop at work to make bootable flash drives and bootable 60gb hard drives for my tech's to use.
Make sure the flash drive is Fat32 formatted.

@REO
many many many many thanks. I got through. The tool really helped and solved my problem.
Now I can proceed. I think I also need to update it after doing these steps.
But thanks again. Be blessed
Is it only compatible with HP laptops or any other laptop also?
Most friendly regards,

Just with the models on the list.
On some other HP's not listed but not discovered yet.
I wish it worked on some of the high end Dell's.
Do not forget to click Accept as Solution on my post with the instructions and the link to download the files.
Best of luck in the future.

I have the hp Elitebook 8470p which is not listed on your list. So I can’t boot from an usb. But you said that I could boot from a HDD. Can I do this on MY laptop? If I can do this, how can I do that?
Thanks
