Here is link to latest version of HP Advisor, install it and check...... ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp50001-50500/sp50046.exe
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

I downloaded the update file (2nd solution) and BINGO it worked! My problem was similar. I was getting the same error: "HP Advisor has stopped working" but it was on an HP Pavillion dv4-1275mx Entertainment Notebook PC. Thank you so much.

Tried the fix for hp advisor. I only get a read only file and not a .exe sure would be nice to have it again without doing a system recovery. I am running vista home preimum 32bit x86 if it helps Tried both of your fixes

I tried this but it didn't work. Maybe because I have Windows 7 and Pavillion dv7t-2200 CTO Notebook? It says No item to match your search, even when I just did Adodb.dll.
I reinstalled again today with the latest download from HP, Advisor still does not work

I downloaded this from the FTP site but once again it still doesn't work. As soon as I click the icon it says HP Advisor has stopped working. I'm using Windows 7
I can't belive HP doesn't have a fix for this. It seems like it's a common problem.
