Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

I tried upgrading the RAM in my wife's laptop from 8GB to 16GB. Now laptop won't turn on (nothing on screen - I also tried external monitor). I even reinstalled old RAM but no progress.

 

Pushing power button can get light to go on or off, but nothing on screen. Lights come on in power button and power supply plug light is on when plugged in, but nothing on screen. I have tried holding power button for 10-20 seconds, tried holding various keys, etc., while powering on but to no avail. 

 

Any ideas are appreciated.

 

I have changed RAM in many laptops and PCs in my life, and this is the first time this has ever happened.
