Microsoft Windows 11

I just did a fresh install of Windows 11 22H2 on an HP HP ZBook Fury 16 G9 Mobile Workstation PC.  I am coming up with three missing devices in Device Manager, and for the life of me cannot figure out what needs to be installed to get this laptop setup completed.  Attached are the devices in question.

Any help with this is much appreciated.

Thanks!!

Hi:

You need these drivers.

For the unknown device, the only place I could find that driver was from the Microsoft update catalog.

I have zipped up the driver and attached it below.

To install the driver...

Download and unzip the attached file to its folder.

Do not do anything with the files in the folder.

Go to the device manager.

Click on the unknown device needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

Select the 'Browse my computer for drivers' option and browse to the driver folder you unzipped.

Make sure that the Include subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.

PCI serial port & PCI Simple Comms Controller:

Intel Management Engine Driver

Hi Paul,

So I only need to install the two posted to take care of all three missing devices?  Will dive into this right now.

Thank you!

You're very welcome.

That is correct.

For some reason HP does not have the Intel Management Engine driver on the W11 driver section, so I had to give you the W10 driver which should work fine.

There are two separate driver folders in that file. One installs the Intel Management Engine Interface (PCI Simple Comms) and the other folder installs the PCI serial port (Intel Active Management Technology-SOL device).

Hi Paul,

How the heck did you figure this one out?  I was searching online for awhile but was stumped.  Especially the one you said you found from the MS Update catalog?

Oops...

There is a W11 driver for W11 21H2.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp139501-140000/sp139814.exe

I looked on the W11 22H2 page.

I was looking there as well but must have missed it.

Now which driver is this you just linked below?

Thanks again!

I found the driver by googling the hardware ID.

When I came up empty-handed, I entered the ID in the Microsoft update catalog website.

Now, I can't find it.  ☹️

Here is a related discussion regarding that elusive driver.

That is the W11 Intel Management Engine Interface driver.

Use that one instead of the W10 driver I gave you earlier.

This is some whacky stuff.  Glad you found it when you did!  It was driving me nuts.

I have another machine with a missing driver.  Can I post here or do you want a new thread?
