HP Pavillion DV5-2074dx.Trying to restore system to factory settings with Recovery DVD's from HP. After 2 nd DVD loaded then a Supplemental cd is inserted, then system restarts. Looks like everything is going to continue, loading recovery system, but the a message "Recovery Manager" windows shows with the following message "The Recovery attempt has failed.Select one of the following buttons: Save  log   Details     Retry  . If Retry button chosed, program ask to insert the recovery media and restarts and try to reinstall the recovery system again. I tried 3 times already.I cleaned the DVD's , I tried with a New Hard drive, without battery, removed one at the time memory modules and the same resault. Please somebody may have a solution for it???

Hi please check your HP Recovery disc.is this same model which you have?Also checkor make sure in recovery disc no secrech.

If your wifi is switched off, this will happen. Check to see if your wifi switch is on, and if not, try it again.

Hi before you start reinstalling fectory setting with recovery disc. Do folowing thing 1 remove all flash usb from laotop use only power plug.2 if accured the same problem.replace your HP Recovery disc or cotact HP coustomer care. Thanks

"A recovery process can fail if it is interrupted by pressing the keys, or turning off the power before the recovery is complete. The recovery process will pause for several minutes when it finishes reinstalling the operating system. If any user action is performed, or if the power is turned off, the recovery may fail. Do not press any computer keys and allow the process to unbundle and setup the original software programs. The recovery process is not complete until a prompt is displayed to log on to the computer."

The process was done just inserting the DVD's at the time was requested. No power failure happened neither key was pressed . Also I allowed like 4 hours to complete the recovery but nothing happened. I decided to send to hp for repair. But thanks for your input.
