To determine the version of Java installed on your HP ENVY x360 - 15m-dr1011dx, follow these steps:
For Windows:
Check via Command Prompt:
- Press Win + S to open the search bar, type cmd, and hit Enter to open Command Prompt.
- Type the following command:java -version
- Press Enter. If Java is installed, it will display the installed version. For example:java version "17.0.1" 2021-10-19 LTS Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 17.0.1+12-LTS-39) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 17.0.1+12-LTS-39, mixed mode, sharing)
- If Java is not installed or the command isn't recognized, proceed to the next step.
Check in Control Panel:
- Press Win + S, type Control Panel, and hit Enter.
- Navigate to Programs > Programs and Features.
- Look for "Java" in the list of installed programs. The version number will often appear next to it.
Check Installed Path:
- Java is typically installed in the C:\Program Files\Java or C:\Program Files (x86)\Java directory. Navigate to this location to see installed versions.
If Java is Not Found:
- Download and install the latest version of Java from the official Oracle Java website or Adoptium.
